3. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:

  • Identity & contact data: name, phone number, email address, delivery address
  • Account data: login credentials (stored securely), preferences, wishlist and cart activity
  • Order & transaction data: products ordered, amounts, payment method, Mobile Money phone number used for payment, delivery status, invoices
  • Support data: messages you send via forms, email, or phone, and our responses
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, approximate location derived from IP, pages visited, and cookies or similar technologies (see section 9)

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, or religious data) for ordinary shopping. Please do not send such information unless we expressly request it for a lawful purpose.

4. How we collect data

  • Directly from you (account registration, checkout, contact forms)
  • Automatically when you browse (cookies, logs, analytics where enabled)
  • From payment or logistics partners when processing your order (for example payment confirmation or delivery updates)

5. Why we process your data

We process personal data to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process, fulfil, deliver, and support your orders
  • Process payments securely via Mobile Money and other providers
  • Communicate order updates, service messages, and respond to enquiries
  • Improve our website, products, and customer experience
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations (tax, consumer protection, data protection)
  • Send marketing messages only where permitted (you may opt out at any time)

We process your data based on your consent, to fulfil your order or account, to meet legal obligations, or for our legitimate business needs (balanced against your rights).

6. Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with trusted service providers who process data on our instructions, including:

  • Payment providers (e.g. Mobile Money operators and gateways)
  • Delivery / logistics partners
  • Hosting, cloud, email, and analytics providers used to run the store
  • Professional advisers or authorities when required by law or to protect our rights

Where a third party processes data for us, we take steps so that processing remains limited to agreed purposes and appropriately secured.

7. Storage and cross-border transfers

Where practicable, we aim to keep personal data in Rwanda. Some systems we use (for example cloud hosting or email) may involve processing outside Rwanda.

When data is processed outside Rwanda, we use appropriate safeguards and only work with providers we trust to protect your information.

8. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: for example, while your account is active; for orders, for the period needed for warranties, accounting, and legal claims; and for support records for a reasonable period after resolution. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it where feasible.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function (for example session, authentication, and cart). We may also use analytics or preference cookies to understand usage and improve the storefront.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect login, checkout, or other features. Where non-essential cookies require consent under applicable law, we will seek that consent.

10. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or destruction (such as access controls, encrypted connections where appropriate, and staff awareness). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password for your account.

11. Personal data breaches

If a personal data breach occurs that may put your information at risk, we will take prompt steps to contain it and, where appropriate, notify you and the relevant authorities.
